ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Andrew S. Pomerantz, M.D.
Dr. Pomerantz is the National Mental Health Director for Integrated Services in the Veterans Health Administration, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Pomerantz was a Primary Care physician in central Vermont for 12 years, prior to beginning training in psychiatry. He has spent his entire career seeking effective models of full integration of mental health care and primary care. He joined the VA in 1987 as director of Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry at the White River Junction (Vermont) VA and served as chief of Mental Health there from 1992 until assuming his current national position in 2011.
He has received local, regional, and national recognition and awards for his pioneering work in integrated care and telehealth, including the American Psychiatric Association’s Gold Achievement award for innovation and the VA Secretary’s Advanced Clinical Access award in 2005.
