ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Jaqueline Sharp

Jacqueline Sharp is the Area Director for the Arkansas Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She began her role in August 2021. She was drawn to this work because of her own lived experience during postpartum, she has loved ones she supports who struggle, and she believes that mental health is physical health. She has over 10 years of nonprofit experience including working as a director for Age to Age, Inc., and a cancer support organization located in Northwest Arkansas.

Christine Mountier M.D.

Christine Yu Moutier isthe chief medical officer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, dedicated to fighting this leading cause of death after her own lived experience and losing colleagues to suicide. Serving as an expert nationally and abroad, she has testified before Congress and the White House and provided congressional briefings on suicide prevention. Previously, Moutier was a psychology professor and assistant dean at University of California, San Diego School of Medicine; medical director of the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at the VA Medical Center in La Jolla, CA; and a practicing psychiatrist. Moutier co-anchored CNN’s Emmy Award-winning “Finding Hope” suicide prevention town hall and authored the handbook Suicide Prevention.
